Trainer
Courtney Gray is a leader who continually challenges herself by working with people of various ages, backgrounds, and needs at all times. Her leadership experiences come from across a huge spectrum because she believes that gaining a wide variety of life experiences with a wide variety of people will best help her in her own personal growth and development and also in her career goals.
Courtney has an obvious passion for children and young adults that has shown through in many of her chosen pursuits. She has been a Cadet (or ‘student’) Teacher in a 4th grade classroom; she has traveled the state of Oregon as a Science Wizard; she has been a Head Counselor at a summer camp in Minnesota; Courtney even spent time during her sophomore year of college volunteering for a Character Development program in a local elementary school each week.
When it comes to young adults however, it is Courtney’s passion for life and enthusiasm for making the most out of each moment that helps her to make connections with the hundreds of 1st-year college students she lives and works with each day in the largest freshman hall on campus as a Resident Assistant (or RA) at Northern Arizona University. Next year she looks forward to leading her staff of 20 into another successful year as they find innovative and exciting ways to challenge, support, and connect with their new freshmen residents. Courtney will also stay involved with the personal growth and development of 1st-year college students by teaching an actual college class! Courtney will be sharing her great attitude, experience, and passion for student development through a class entitled “First Year Experience”. She will not only teach the class, but will serve as a mentor to students outside of the classroom as well.
Courtney’s passion for life, and her enthusiasm for making the most out of it through continual growth and development, doesn’t stop with young adults however. Courtney had the amazing opportunity to work with adults struggling through their trials of unemployment when she worked at the county career center as a member of AmeriCorps during her freshmen year of college.
